Check-in on Sunday
Check-in is at 4:00-4:30 PM on Sunday at the Navy/Marine Corps Football Stadium, located a few blocks from campus. You can get to the registration area by using Gate 5 of the football stadium parking lot on Taylor Avenue (full directions listed below). Please allow sufficient time to drive to Annapolis. On Sunday afternoons, the Bay Bridge from the Eastern Shore and the NJ Turnpike can have quite a bit of traffic.
After handing in your proof of physical form (information below) and receiving your son's room number at the stadium check-in, we will have buses driving campers with their luggage onto campus and to the dormitory. Parents have the option to ride the bus with their sons to help them get situated in the dorm. For those campers being dropped off at the stadium, the coaching staff will help them find their room and get set up. If parents choose to ride the bus to campus, the buses will shuttle parents back to the stadium where their cars will be parked.
Even if you have a military ID, you still must check-in at the stadium to hand in your medical form and receive your room number.

Proof of Physical
The Naval Academy Athletic Association requires our campers to provide proof of a valid physical examination that was completed within one year of the start of camp. This would be a form from your doctor, much like the one you would submit to your school. If your doctor or school does not have a specific form, you can substitute this with a letter from your doctor, stating the camper is in good physical health and able to participate in a rigorous athletic camp. Please include any allergies and/or daily medications. We do not have a specific camp form, so please follow the above guidelines and work with your child's doctor to secure an appropriate form or note.
If you wish to submit the form in advance of camp, please email it to navycrewcamp@gmail.com. You also have the option of submitting it in person at camp check-in.

Medications and Medical Trainers
We are not allowed to collect medications and/or administer them to campers. If your son needs daily medication, please make sure he can self-administer and lock it away when we are not in the dormitory. We do have lockable cabinets in each dorm room and have a small refrigerator in the counselors room for medications that need cold storage.
Every Navy Crew Camp session has an athletic trainer on-call for the duration of camp.

Transportation
At no additional cost, the Navy Crew Camp transports campers to and from Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) Airport and BWI Amtrak Train Station (NOT Baltimore-Penn Train Station). We do not offer transportation to/from any other airports or train stations. This service is only offered on the day of check-in and the day of check-out. *We are unable to participate in the airlines' and trains' unaccompanied minor program so campers must get themselves outside of security on arrival and check-in on their own for departure.
Please keep the following important things in mind, when making flight/train reservations:
Please keep the following important things in mind, when making flight/train reservations:
- Flights must land at BWI on Sunday no later than 3:00 PM, while trains must arrive at BWI Train Station no later than 3:20 PM.
- Campers will be picked up at the Observation Gallery of the BWI Airport (between B and C concourses) at 3:30 PM. The Observation Gallery is on the upper level of the airport's main concourse, next to Ledo Pizza and Dunkin Donuts, and directly behind the American Airline Ticket Counter. The meeting spot is outside of security, so the campers can pick up their luggage at baggage claim and then head upstairs to the Observation Gallery to wait for pick-up by the coaching staff at 3:30 PM. BWI Map for Meeting Spot.
- Campers arriving by train will be picked up directly in front of the small train station at 3:45 PM. Our staff will be riding along on the Navy Camp Bus and will be collecting campers at each stop. (note: this is NOT the Baltimore-Penn Train Station, please remind your sons to get off at the BWI Airport Train Station)
- For return transportation, the camp bus will deliver campers on the last day of camp to the BWI Airport at approximately 11:00 AM and to the BWI Train Station at approximately 11:20 AM.
- Please arrange flight departures on the last day of camp after 1:00 PM and train departures after 11:45 AM.
- If you would like to take advantage of this free camp shuttle service, please fill out the following Navy Crew Camp Transportation Form. If your plans change, you can fill out the form again or email us with the changes at navycrewcamp@gmail.com.
- If arriving flights or trains are delayed beyond a reasonable time frame, the campers will need to take a taxi/uber to the US Naval Academy (Gate 1 - Main Gate), where our staff will pick them up.
Packing List - What to Bring
- Athletic shirts and shorts (note: tight fitting shorts are advised as loose clothing can get stuck in the rowing equipment)
- Sneakers: we ask campers to wear sneakers every day for practice, since sandals are not allowed in the dining hall. Sandals can be worn to the pool and the Annapolis town visit.
- Water bottle(s)
- Hats are suggested for rowing, but are not allowed to be worn in the dining hall or ceremonial areas.
- Rain jacket (coxswains may want to consider bringing rain pants too)
- Clothes for our one Annapolis town visit (example: nice shorts and collared polo shirt)
- Combination Lock for lockable closet in the dorm room (Parents should keep a copy of the combination. Keys can be lost)
- Extra Long Twin sheets, blanket and pillow (these are not provided). Or a sleeping bag and pillow would work just fine.
- Bath towel, toiletries and sunscreen!
- Swim Suit and swim towel (we have a short swim evaluation on the first evening of camp, consisting of 1 lap in the pool and treading water for 5 minutes. This is just to evaluate our poor swimmers in case of an emergency on the water.)
- Alarm Clock (a must for those 5:30 AM wake-ups!) The alarm on their cell phones will be sufficient.
- Small Desk Fan (optional, our rooms do have air conditioning)
- Healthy snacks and water or Gatorade (our three meals a day are substantial but healthy snacks are a popular item in the evenings). For campers who are traveling by plane or train, we will also have a camp store that sells Gatorade and snacks in the dorm.
- Apple Pay or Credit Card for souvenirs and Navy Gear (the Naval Academy Gift Shop does not take cash)
- Cash for our Camp Store in the dorm. We sell Gatorade and snacks to supplement our three meals per day, but we only take cash at the camp store. All snacks and Gatorade are $1 each.
- Cell Phone Use: Cell phones are allowed at our camp but the campers will be asked to leave them locked up in their rooms during the day, so they will only have access to them in the dormitory.
